Cheryl Schaeffer, author of "So You Want A Dog," "Choosing To Love A Cat" and "The Pet Person" started Personalized Pet Care by Cheryl in 1990 as a result of friends who knew she had a passion for animals and the ability to care for their pets as if they were her own. She quickly gained the reputation through word of mouth as being the person who takes the worry out of leaving your pets at home while you travel or when you need pet care while you work.

The hallmark of Personalized Pet Care by Cheryl is truly the personalized service rendered. Clients note that they return home to happy pets who have had the same care they are used to from the clients. Established rituals for feeding, walking, training, and so on are observed with care.

In 2006, Cheryl began training dogs at a municipal shelter as well as participating in dog behavior assessments. Cheryl trained dogs under the Personalized Pet Care by Cheryl name until 2015 when she separated the two businesses and officially formed Sit, Stay, Love Dog Training.

 

Dog owners can choose from traditional dog training where Cheryl trains both dogs and owners or her unique service of "Walk & Train" where she works with your dog on their behavioral issues. Although traditional dog training results in faster progress and a better bond between owner and dog, "Walk & Train" has proven to be helpful to owners who may not be able to do traditional training with their dog.
